Hmm..i cant help not giving my view on the Sharifah Amani thing.. Once again, it’s from MY PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE. For those of you who have no clue what im talking about, here’s what she said at the Malaysia Film Festival 2006 where she won the Best Actress award,

“I’d like to make my speech in English because I sound stupid when I speak Malay”

Damn. I bet she didn’t think that line would cause such a havoc and almost threatening her title.

Well, looking at the fact that;

1. she had no idea she was going to win (which explains the random outburst),

2. she’s obviously so suprised and giddy with happiness that she had won,

3. she’s young and super-modernised and all (yeah,i noe,it doesn’t sound right,lol, just wanted a 3rd excuse, so shoot me)

I know all the malay language expertise and stuff are offended and fuming with fury, but give the girl a break, won’t ya all?

It was,after all, HER NIGHT. And I can see that when she made that comment, she meant that her BM is no where near the ‘pleasing-to-the-ear’ category and she might as well not make a complete jack out of herself by making grammatical mistakes. Can u imagine if she HAD made a speech in BM, and HAD made mistakes, it WOULD still been an issue. Prolly stuff like, how can a malay actress NOT know how to speak proper BM. *roll eyes*

Ah well,im not exactly super tamil speaking. And that is NOTHING to do with me being a white-chick wannabe nor am i ashamed to be an indian.

It’s truly ANNOYING when u u speak in english and get remarks such as,

1. You don’t know how to speak tamil ah?

2. You think you are white, is it?

3. Eating dhal at home but speaking in english?

HUH? What’s with the dhal proverb? Get over yourselves la!

If I’m speaking to my grandma, no doubt, the conversation goes on in tamil. Why? ‘Coz she doesn’t know english.

I know tamil. Even though i’m not fluent, SO WHAT? I’m on the process of learning!

There’s a major pain-in-the-ass group of guys right NEXT to our college. Super IRRITATING. Gawd! They ALWAYS pull the last nerve out of me and my friends, and they do it in TAMIL,so whats the point? Speaking in tamil and using it to make life hard for others? I dont think so. You might say that those guys have attitude problem and it doesn’t have anything to do with the language. Same thing! Why is language the problem when it’s regarding me then? It’s all in YOU. How you WANT to look at things. Don’t just WAIT there waiting for someone to make a mistake and then just POUNCE on them! Give people a BREAK!!!

Ok,don’t ask me what’s with the anger. Hehe. I have no idea. I guess it’s just unfair when people judge you based on the language you speak.

Anyways.yay! it’s the last Saturday of the month,

translation: PAYDAY!!! ~woot!!

but it’s entirely going to be used for settling my debts. LOL.

anyways,here are some random ramblings:

~One in a Million was a lil lame this week. i just loved the fact that Suki sang a Veronicas  number; "When it all Falls Apart"

And Dayang, oh man,i don’t know what to say la. i don’t want to offend any of her fans (yes,she’s a famous star!!)

Farah is gorgeous. I just like her selection of english songs, that’s about it.

I think I’m rooting for Faizal to win this competition. He’s totally a rock type and 100% superb showmanship.

~i can’t believe the are re-running the whole season 2 of project runway all over again!!!

~ah well,cheers to a great weekend!

well,back to college.
poor kuna is sick so i had to use our xtremely reliable public transport *snort*
my classes were 12-2pm
but as a whole,i left home at 10.30 and reached home at 4.30.
and i spent 10 bucks.
so much for saving. ugh.

got a heart attack wen i saw the breakdown of AS results.
i didnt think lab would affect THAT much.
it helped for bio but SO NOT for chem.
and all hail mechanics.
*drops dead for awhile*

but whats done’s done.
juz gotta buck up for the next exam.

what a pain.

and to add more misery to my can’t-get-any-MORE-miserable life,
driving tests tomoro. (yup, AGAIN!)

1. did Paris Hilton have to sit for driving lessons and all? pffft
2. why are the lives of people SO MUCH d.i.f.f.e.r.e.n.t from one another? the gap is ridiculously LARGER than life
3. am i gonne pass my freakin driving test?
4. what if i fail again?
5. darn,i haf to skip maths tomoro. thanx to my drivin test.
